The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation®, a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 2023 to provide support and assistance to families in need, military members, veterans and first responders. We deliver this through programs such as NABC Recycled Rides®, NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.™) and Keys for Change. In 2025, we have, through these programs, presented some 250 vehicles to families, veterans and military members in need of reliable transportation and provided life-saving education on vehicle rescue techniques to more than 1,00 first responders.

Indianapolis Young Woman in Need Receives Refurbished Vehicle at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as Part of the NABC Recycled Rides® Program
On Sunday, July 26, an Indianapolis young woman raced toward life’s victory lane with a life-changing gift — the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle as she moves from the foster system and plans her future. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Gerber Collision & Glass, with additional support from PPG and Enterprise.

On Wednesday, July 29, four deserving Oklahoma veterans experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide them each with independence and the ability to work and take care of their families – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with vehicle donors Farmers Insurance and repair partners Caliber Collision, Crash Champions and Gerber Collision & Glass.
Russom’s CARSTAR Collision, Travelers and Local First Responders Help Make Mid-South Drivers Safer on the Road Through National Auto Body Council® First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.™) Program
First responders from nine fire departments across the Mid-South donned their gear at Russom’s CARSTAR Collision in Dyersburg, TN, on Saturday, July 11 for a hands-on learning experience teaching them how to rescue accident victims from late-model vehicles – life-saving skills that are critical when minutes matter most, all thanks to Russom’s CARSTAR Collision, Travelers Insurance and the National Auto Body Council® F.R.E.E.™ program. Hurst Jaws of Life® provided the tools used in the demonstrations.
National Auto Body Council® Announces Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® Keys for Change Program to Drive Funding for Critical Community Programs
The National Auto Body Council® is announcing a new vehicle donation program to allow automotive companies and consumers alike to help provide donations for the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® to support the life-changing efforts of the NABC Recycled Rides® program and the life-saving initiatives of the NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.™) program. The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® Keys for Change program offers the opportunity for those with unwanted vehicles to donate them in an easy, efficient and tax-exempt process, all while helping a good cause.
